When you arrive at Allerton House, you are met with a warm welcome and a complementary glass of port or sherry in the Macallan lounge, where the warmth of a traditional log fire greets you on a cold day. The Macallan Lounge is also where you can find a film to watch in the extensive DVD library or just relax reading the daily papers or a book from the library.
Facial, massage and beauty treatments can be arranged upon request, with a beautician coming to your room. Services include: a range of facials using the Dermalogica state-of-the-art skin care system; Swedish and aromatherapy massage; manicure and pedicure; make-up application (including eyelash and eyebrow tinting); waxing; electrolysis; and ear piercing.

Allerton House has 6 spacious, uniquely furnished bedrooms, each with its own character.
The Fernihurst Suite is named after historic Fernihurst Castle, which is only 2 miles from Allerton House. This spacious suite, situated in the more secluded side of the house, hosts 2 full size twin beds, a lovely, large en suite bathroom with shower and a cozy seating area.
The Capon Suite is named after the local "Capon Tree", one of only 50 named trees in all of Britain. It is the last surviving tree of the once extensive Jed Forest, which covered the Teviot Valley in past centuries. The Capon Family Suite is unique to Jedburgh. In one room you have a king-size feature bed, a small kitchen area and a separate room with full size bunk-beds for the kids. It has a beautifully tiled open shower room. The kids have their own TV/video/Playstation and a selection of books and videos so all of you can have some time to yourselves.
The Abbey Suite is named after the Jedburgh Abbey, which was founded in 1138. This spacious suite, with majestic high ceilings, is located on the ground floor and meets all disability requirements. It hosts full size twin beds, a newly refurbished bathroom and a lovely sofa area overlooking the garden. The sofa can convert into a sofa bed which can accommodate another guest.
The Castle Suite is named after the historic Jedburgh Castle Jail, where Robert the Bruce once stayed. It boasts a king-size, French pine bed, newly refurbished en suite bathroom with shower and a sofa area with beautiful views out toward the Castle jail.
The Jed Room is named after the river that flows through the town of Jedburgh. This charming cosy room is the only single room at Allerton and has just been fully refurbished. It has a beautifully tiled en suite bathroom with modern walk-in sports shower and all other in-room facilities.
The award-winning chef, Brian Leask, prepares all of delicious meals at Allerton House. Beyond the sumptuous breakfasts in the Maccallan Lounge (full choice Scottish Breakfast is available), you can order from the in-room dining menu. Special food requirements can also be catered for.

By Car:
- As you enter Jedburgh on the A68, turn up Oxnam Road, which is situated between a church and a white building called the Waterside Fitness Centre.
